Ariana Grande is here to blow away a favorite music standard “Still Hurting”, which is the center piece of the Off-Broadway show The Last 5 Years. Grande and Broadway actor Shoshana Bean joined Jason Robert Brown, who is a Tony Award winning composer, for a free live-streamed concert.
The concert was free to stream on the SubCulture’s, where Brown usually performs with his band, Facebook page. Viewers, however, are encouraged to donate money to help the staff of the SubCulture venue during this difficult time.
“Sitting here watching the news go by, I had to do something, I had to figure out some way to let these notes and words in my head come out and be shared with my collaborators and my audience, and so, here we are. All of us in our homes, making music however and whenever we can…” Brown said in a statement.
Grande made her Broadway debut in Brown’s 2008 musical, 13. Listen “Still Hurting” is a good song, even if people are mixed over The Last 5 Years. Everyone wants to cover that song though. There’s just something so powerful about it.
Grande, of course, killed it. Watch below.
