9-1-1: Lone Star Season 2 Trailer Has The 126 Handling A Volcano

9-1-1 always loves to start off its seasons with a bang. Over the course of four seasons, the 118 has had to deal with an earthquake, a tsunami, and, in the season 4 premiere, a mudslide.

It’s spinoff series, 9-1-1: Lone Star is kicking off season 2 with something odd.

A pool volcano. In Texas.

Is lava something that people need to worry about in Austin? Hello? Writers?

Anyway, the trailer also gives us our first look at Gina Torres, who joined the series following the exit of Liv Tyler. Tyler left the series due to COVID-19 travel restrictions as she lives in London most of the time and didn’t want to leave her kids for that long, which, you know, that’s fair.

Torres will play Tommy Vega, a paramedic captain with eight-year-old twins who returns to work after her husband’s restaurant goes under due to COVID-19. It’s going to be an interesting first day back for Tommy, we’re thinking.

Because, you know, pool volcano.

9-1-1: Lone Star premieres on Jan. 18 at 9/8c, sharing its night with its parent series, 9-1-1.
