Remember the Twilight craze of the late 00s and early 10s? It seems like a million years ago, but it was huge. Arguably it also had a big impact on the proliferation of YA literature and its adaptations. Also 50 Shades of Grey happened because of it.
Currently, the Twilight fandom is undergoing what’s been called the “Twilight revival” or “renaissance”. Where fans are critical of the work, but also just enjoy it and make up silly headcanons about the Cullens. Now the last we heard from Stephenie Meyer was in 2015 when she did the Twilight genderswap AU rewrite Life and Death.
And now, after years of waiting, we’re getting Midnight Sun aka Twilight from Edward’s POV. The book is coming out on Aug. 4, 2020 as Meyer announced on her website. According to the Amazon, Midnight Sun is 672 pages long. So nearly 700 pages of Edward’s angst, oh we’re so happy.
Meyer has been working on the book for over a decade. See she was going to publish in the heyday of the Twilight era, but someone leaked the first 250 pages of the book and she put a stop to it.
So take a look at the book cover below and prepare yourself to go back to the days when you had a retainer and debated over Team Edward vs Team Jacob for hours.
