Did Sherlock Fall Off The Wagon? New Set Photos Show A Rough Looking Mr. Holmes

Everyone’s favorite detective may be in for a rough time when he returns to our screens in 2017. Sherlock has already started filming (bless), and if the photos that have been released so far are any indication, Mr. Holmes has seen better days looks-wise.

Some shots of the Sherlock set have been released, and Sherlock appears to be sporting some scruff on his face.

Sherlock normally likes to rock the clean-shaven-I-am-100-percent-put-together-in-control-of-everything look so to see him with some scruff is a bit jarring. Normally when he appears to be less than put together, it is a pretty good indication that he’s falling off the wagon (he’s a recovering addict).

That may not be the case here though. There are other reasons he may look a little worn out. He could be undercover or pretending to be someone. Or maybe the new villain, who will be played by Toby Jones, has finally gotten to the detective and broken his spirit?

Some of these questions might be answered in a week or so at the Sherlock panel at San Diego Comic Con. Sadly, at this time, series stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are not attending that particular panel. Here’s hoping that the panel gives us a trailer of sorts for the upcoming season at the very least.

Series Four will have the usual three episodes when it does return. Sherlockians everywhere will still have quite the wait for its premiere as the release date has yet to be announced.

Sherlock will return some time in 2017 on BBC One.
