We have a destination, fellow Walking Dead fans!
Last month a trailer was released for the the second half of the AMC show’s fifth season. Now we have some teaser photos of Rick and Michonne, as well as the first two minutes of the premiere episode of season 5B.
Check it out!
When the trailer was released I speculated about where the group was going to go now that they didn’t have a safe haven anymore. In the this video we have the impact of Beth’s death weighing heavily on her sister, Maggie, and Noah. Then we see Noah explaining to Rick that Beth had plans to go with him to Richmond, Virginia. According to him, there was a sanctuary there, and that is the direction Rick decides the group will go.
This doesn’t take them too far away from their original destination of Washington D.C. so they will still need to make the trek up north. But does this place that Noah talk about still exist? The best way to find out is by going. Right now their options are staying where they are, or taking the risk to find a place that they can live and survive. Despite Rick saying that this could be their chance to find a permanent place to live, we know that, after watching four and a half seasons, this is easier to believe than to achieve. With each new place brings new obstacles to overcome. By obstacles? I mean other survivors with different view of how to survive, who are more threatening than the walkers.
The producers of the show have already teased that this second half will be “dark” and “sad,” so we should all be spending the rest of this week leading up to the premiere mentally preparing ourselves for the return of this show. It feels like we have been waiting forever for it to come back on our televisions. Now we must get ready as best we can because I don’t know if we will ever be fully prepared for what they are going to throw at us.
Be sure to tune into the new episode this Sunday on AMC at 9/8c.
