With only two weeks until the premiere of Season 2 of the ABC hit Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. the synopsis of the opening episode “Shadows” has been released.  The premiere episode will also star Hayley Atwell, who of course plays Agent Penny Carter in what we can only presume is a precursor to her standalone show Marvel’s Agent Carter which will air early in 2015.

The synopsis reads as follows:

“Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources–but that’s not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?”

The second season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has quite the list of guest stars which includes Lucy Lawless, Kyle McLachlan, Nick Blood, Henry Simmons, Patton Oswald is returning as the hilarious Agent Billy Koenig, and the unwelcome return of Adrian Pasdar as Brigadier General Glen Talbot.

I am ready and waiting for this new season to start, because we were left with so many unanswered questions at the end of the last season. Will Ward remain true to HYDRA or can a leopard truly change his spots? Will Agent Fitz survive his watery ordeal? Who are these new members, and are they really on the side of Coulson and S.H.I.E.L.D.? Finally and most importantly how long will I have to wait to see the return of the awesomely brilliant Maria Hill played by Cobie Smulders, and will Nick Fury reappear when we all least expect it? Safe to say it will not be an easy ride, but boy am I am going to enjoy the journey.

We are very excited for the return of Director Coulson and his team, when Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns to ABC at the new time of 9/8C from September 23.
