Fans of How I Met Your Mother and Avengers star Cobie Smulders, this news is for you. Smulders, who plays Agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is going to star in a new romantic comedy Results. Guy Pearce, who can currently be seen in The Rover, will co-star with Smulders in the movie in which they play two mismatched personal trainers who fall in love thanks to their client, played by Kevin Corrigan.
Results is being described as “an unconventional romantic comedy” and is directed by Andrew Bujalski; the movie will also star Giovanni Ribbi, Constance Zimmer, Brooklyn Decker, and Anthony Michael Hall.
Any chance to see Smulders on the big screen is alright with me, and I can’t wait to see her in a movie role other than the awesome Maria Hill, and I have been a fan of Guy Pearce for years as I am old enough to remember him as Mike Young in Australian soap opera Neighbours back in the 1980’s. Since then, I have never been disappointed with any of the movie choices Pearce has made, and it will make a welcome change to see him star in something a little bit lighter than movies such as L.A. Confidential and Memento. I am hoping that Smulders and Pearce have a good chemistry although we know they are both brilliant actors so I think we could be onto a winner with this one, especially if the newly released image of the pair is anything to go by.
I love a good romantic comedy, so I have high hopes for this movie. We will bring you more news on this project as we get it. Results is due to be released at some point in 2015, so with the The Avengers: Age of Ultron to look forward to next year as well, it looks like 2015 will be a great year to be a Cobie Smulders fan
