There’s been HUGE casting news on the front of Bridgerton season 2.
According to EW, Simone Ashley (Sex Education) has joined the cast as Kate aka Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) love interest. Instead of Kate Sheffield, however, she will be playing Kate Sharma. Her character description says that she is “newly arrived in London” and is “smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included”.
In the second book of Bridgerton series, Kate refuses to let a rake like Anthony Bridgerton marry her beloved younger sister. And, naturally, sparks fly between the pair.
Showrunner Chris Van Dusen said, “There’s always going to be differences from source material, but the fans of the books are going to see that the elements they love of the books on screen too: the way the siblings banter, the way Violet loves her children, and the love stories at the hearts of each book — these moving, sweeping romances with all the twists and turns, and their steaminess”
Bridgerton is set to head into production for season 2 in Spring 2021.
