The end of Avengers: Endgame left fans of Captain America (Chris Evans) feeling slightly divided on whether they loved or hated the ending. Steve Rogers ultimately decided to stay in the past to reunite with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) and returned to the future the normal way.
An older Steve instead presented Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) with the shield and the title of Captain America, we’ll see Sam dealing with that in the upcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series on Disney+ in March. But we could be seeing Steve Rogers again.
Or, well, so the reports are going.
Deadline reported that Evans has been talking to Marvel Studios about appearing back in the MCU. Not in a main film capacity, but more of an RDJ sort of role in films like Captain America: Civil War or Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Given that it looks like it that the MCU may be spinning out into the multiverse? He could be a totally different Cap then the one we know. We don’t know. Or it could be old Steve, who had a run in comics recently. We just don’t know.
Now Marvel is keeping mum and Evans replied with the following tweet “News to me”.
News to me🤷🏻♂️

Buuuuuut this wouldn’t be the first time that an MCU actor had to keep things on the DL. And there has to be some sort of truth to this rumor, right?
