Tom Holland And Daisy Ridley Go On A Journey In Trailer For Chaos Walking

In the category of “films we totally forgot where a thing that was happening”, Chaos Walking dropped its first trailer. Much like it’s contemporary, The New Mutants, this film started filming years ago with a starry cast before falling into a reshoot/delayed hell. It was actually declared “unreleasable” and they had a hell of the time getting the stars to do the reshoots because of other film commitments.

And well since COVID-19 is pushing back all the movies people were anticipating, might as well release stuff for it now. Here’s the trailer for Chaos Walking starring Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland to remind you, “oh yeah, that was a thing”.

Based on the Patrick Ness series of the same name, we follow Todd Hewitt (Holland) who meets a young woman named Viola (Ridley). Todd has never met a woman before because, for some reason, they all disappeared on his colony planet. This makes Viola, literally, the last woman on the place. Which, girl, that does not sound good at all.

In addition to all of this, the men on the planet suffer from something called the Noise which makes them all telepathically connected to each other, which sure why not. When Viola is threatened because of course she is, Todd vows to protect her. It leads on a journey to unlock the planets deep dark secrets.

Mads Mikkelsen, Demián Bichir, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, Kurt Sutter, and David Oyelowo also star in this film directed by Doug Liman.

Chaos Walking is scheduled for release on Jan 22, 2021.
