As we head towards the middle of November, it is usually around this time that all the pieces of the convoluted plot of the current season of American Horror Story heads of a climax and resolution. However, because this year is unlike any we have experienced in our lifetimes, we have yet to see a single episode of the upcoming 10th season and series creator Ryan Murphy is only now just starting his long drawn out teasing causing fans to go into deep dives of possible season theme theories based of the breadcrumbs he leaves us.
Enter his social media post late Tuesday night.
Oh so casually he drops a teaser image that definitely raises more questions than it answers and I am thinking we also need to pay attention to the location tagged in the Instagram post – Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Featuring an open-wide mouth ringed with razor-sharp teeth, a gloved hand has just completed tattooing “AHS 10” on the tongue – tattoo needle still with a droplet of ink beading at its point.

While it’s hard to remember all the way back to August, this new image does share some similar features as the one Murphy posted then to announce that production would start up on season 10 in October – that of a jaw with extremely sharp pointed fangs.
Add into the mix the image of a sandy beach and the location from Tuesday’s post and fans are positing different ideas of what could this year’s theme be. Creatures from the deep, mermaids, sirens, sharks, or perhaps none of the above.
The usual AHS gang back for more fun and games include Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Lily Rabe, Finn Wittrock, Adina Porter and Angelica Ross. In addition, fans are excited to welcome back Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters who after eight seasons, both took off season 9. Macauley Culkin will also be joining the cast this season.
But the AHS teasing did not end there. We were graced with the first poster image for the AHS spinoff series American Horror Stories as well as some more information about the series.
The artwork for the FX on Hulu anthology series features someone dressed in a rubber suit whose face has been cracked open like an egg exposing a what-looks-like-a-redback-spider-to-this-Aussie and its web. The brief flashes of red on the spider are echoed on the face’s dripping lips.

The image didn’t give fans much to go on but a later comment on the post from Murphy did reveal more about what this spinoff is going to be like. “We are doing 16 one hour stand alone episodes delving into horror myths, legends and lore…many of these episodes will feature AHS stars you know and love.” A number of AHS alum commented on the post, with Murphy replying to Dylan McDermott’s with “Gonna have some good stuff for you in this big daddy”.
We may have had no AHS in 2020 but 2021 is shaping up to more than make up for it.
