First Trailer For The Live-Action/Animated Tom And Jerry Hybrid Is Here And Yikes

Tom and Jerry, everyone’s favorite cat and mouse duo, are heading back to the big screen.

Again.

Didn’t we learn from the last time? You know, the really awful 1992 Tom and Jerry: The Movie where they talked and sang and why does it exist? They’re supposed to be silent.

Well they’re giving it the old college try, going the route of Who Framed Roger Rabbit by having the animated characters share the screen with live-action actors. And there’s something not entirely right out the animation because it looks, um, unfinished?

In the film, the two are in the big city where Jerry has set up a nice little place at a fancy hotel. Tom has been hired in order to catch him before a big wedding. Legendary voice actor Frank Welker is set to play the two longtime rivals.

Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Colin Jost, Ken Jeong, Rob Delaney and Pallavi Sharda make up the live-action cast. They all deserve better.

Tom & Jerry is set to be released next year.
