Netflix may be on a cancelling spree with other series, but they’re bound and determined to hold onto The Witcher.
The streamer released two first look photos of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in season 2 of The Witcher. One (above) is a look at him from the back and the other (below) is showcasing all of that armor. Toss a coin to your Witcher, indeed.
Production of the series resumed in August 2020 following a COVID-19 delay in March. So far, so good on the series. The eight-episode second season is supposed to hit Netflix in 2021.
The second season synopsis for the Witcher was released as well. Check it out below.
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
Netflix continues to go all in on The Witcher with a prequel series, Blood Origin, in the works along with an animated movie as well.
