Ryan Reynolds Tries To Save The (Virtual) World In Latest Trailer For Free Guy

The newest trailer for Ryan Reynolds’ upcoming film Free Guy has been released. Oh boy, it’s definitely getting wild.

In the film, Reynolds stars as Guy, who is a background NPC in an open-world video game world. Growing a bit disenfranchised by his boring day-to-day existence of talking to his goldfish (“Goldie”), going to work at a bank, and getting killed day-in and day-out, Guy suddenly becomes self-aware. He’s in an open-world video game that’s heading toward cancellation. Determined to preserve the existence of his world, Guy teams up with a player character (Jodie Comer) to rewrite the game itself to stop the termination.

Utkarsh Ambudkar, Lil Rel Howery, Taika Waititi and Joe Keery also star. Shawn Levy (Stranger Things) directed the film for 20th Century Studios.

A new poster for the film, which was supposed to be a Summer 2020 released before being pushed back due to… the general state of the world, was also released.
