Sarah Paulson Plays Your Worst Nurse Nightmare In Trailer For Netflix’s Ratched

Time to see how Nurse Ratched (Sarah Paulson) got her start.

In the final trailer for the upcoming Netflix series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, we see Nurse Mildred Ratched arrive in 1947 to a Northern California hospital where some experiments on the human mind on going on. Yikes.

Working with lobotomy happy doctor Richard Hanover (Jon Jon Briones), who promises that lobtomies could cure “[J]uvenile distraction, lesbianism, mania — all of these maladies can be reversed.” Gwendolyn Briggs (Cynthia Nixon), however, is more worried about playing God in this scenario.

But Ratched has her own reasons for showing up at this particular hospital. We’re sure that it’s going to be absolutely wild why she’s there. There’s also a darkness in her as well, and it’s growing.

Judy Davis, Sharon Stone, Finn Wittrock, Charlie Carver, Alice Englert, Amanda Plummer, Sophie Okonedo, Corey Stoll, Brandon Flynn, Annie Starke, and Vincent D’Onofrio also star in the series.

Ratched will be released on Netflix on Sept. 18.
