What would you do for love?
That’s definitely an open-ended question. People would do a lot of things for love. In the trailer for the upcoming action-comedy Love and Monsters, Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf) is going to fight so many monsters across a post-apocalyptic wasteland in order to find his high school sweetheart (Jessica Henwick).
Originally, the film was supposed to be released in Feb. 2021. Due to the pandemic, however, Paramount decided to do a dual release the film digitally in Oct. Why? Because Halloween for one. It’s a valid reason.
On the move, Paramount COO Andrew Gumpert said in a statement, “Given the demand for new, high-quality entertainment right now, Paramount has decided to release Love and Monsters widely on digital platforms. While we eagerly look forward to the reopening of movie theaters, we wanted to make this original and imaginative film available for everyone to enjoy at home.”
Michael Rooker and Ariana Greenblatt also star in the film, which was directed by Michael Matthews. Check out the synopsis below.
“Seven years after the Monsterpocalypse, Joel Dawson (Dylan O’Brien), along with the rest of humanity, has been living underground ever since giant creatures took control of the land. After reconnecting over radio with his high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick), who is now 80 miles away at a coastal colony, Joel begins to fall for her again. As Joel realizes that there’s nothing left for him underground, he decides against all logic to venture out to Aimee, despite all the dangerous monsters that stand in his way.”
Love and Monsters will be available digitally on Oct. 16.
