Black Adam is starting to add more to its cast.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aldis Hodge (Leverage, City on a Hill) will play Hawkman in the upcoming DC film, Black Adam. Speaking as a fan of Hodge since his Leverage days, hell yeah! This is boss casting.
Hawkman’s origins in comics are a bit…weird. He’s either an alien or one-half of a pair of reincarnated Ancient Egyptian lovers. Since Black Adam, which stars Dwayne Johnson as the title character, will introduce the Justice Society of America, it makes sense that Hawkman will be in it as he’s one of the founding members.
Johnson, apparently, called Hodge to tell him the news about his casting. Hodge didn’t believe that Johnson was Johnson, which same. I wouldn’t do it either.
Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) joined the cast as Atom Smasher as well. Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise) will direct the film.
Currently, the roles of Doctor Fate and Cyclone are still searching for their actors for the film.
Black Adam will begin filming in 2021.
