“It seems that not even a quarantine could prevent them from harassing us with another musical performance”.

Yes the Barden Bellas are back together again (at least they are virtually) and this time they are lending their considerable vocal talents to support a great cause… UNICEF.

Though a cappella commentator John Smith (John Michael Higgins) might be less than enthusiastic about their return (see his comment above), Pitch Perfect‘s Bellas are back with a “reimagined classic”, Beyonce’s “Love on Top”.

Recorded in their various houses, the charity single reunites Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Hailee Steinfeld, Alexis Knapp, Ester Dean, Hana Mae Lee, Kelley Alice Jakle, Wanetah Walmsley and Shelley Regner. Money raised from downloads of the single will support UNICEF’s efforts to help children in Beirut and around the world battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pitch Perfect producer, star and director of the second instalment, Elizabeth Banks, posted the video of the virtual performance on her Instagram account yesterday. “Buckle up kids, the Bella’s are back… for a good cause,” she starts of the video’s caption. “Families around the globe are suffering from the impact of the #COVID19 pandemic, especially those in Lebanon who are facing crisis after crisis. But we can all pitch in and help. Money raised from the downloads of our rendition of “Love on Top” will go directly to @UNICEF to help children in Lebanon and around the world who need our support right now.”

Banks then, in character as Gail Abernathy-McKadden, introduces the Bellas alongside John Smith in the video.
