There’s some odd stuff going on in the trailer for Charlie Kaufman’s Netflix movie I’m Thinking of Ending Things.
The follows “Cindy (Jessie Buckley), a young woman visiting her boyfriend Jake’s (Jesse Plemons) family for the first time. Though Cindy believes she and her boyfriend share a “rare connection,” she is still considering ending things between them.”
The film is adapted from the novel of same name by Ian Reid, which is a wild ride from start to finish. I’m Thinking Of Ending Things matches up with Kaufman’s directorial style as the narrator is unreliable and you don’t know what’s going on exactly. Until you do.
Kaufman’s previous credits includes Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind. Toni Collette and David Thewlis play Jake’s parents in the film.
I’m Thinking of Ending Things will hit Netflix on Sept. 4.
