Director and screenwriter Edgar Wright has his project in sites with the ghost tale, Stage 13.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Wright is set to develop, direct, and executive produce the feature, which is based on a story from Saturday Night Live writer Simon Rich.
The film will follow a “silent film-era actress who has haunted the backlot of a studio for decades. After a struggling director meets the ghost, they find an unexpected kinship and team to make their mark on the world.”
Sounds like a spooky rom-com. We’re down.
Wright has a couple of projects up for development. He’ll direct the upcoming adaptation of the Adam McKinty novel, The Chain. Then there’s the long-awaited Last Night in Soho, which stars Matt Smith and Anya Taylor-Joy. The film recently had its released date moved to 2021.
Currently, there’s not release date for Stage 13.
