It’s been a long, hard year, people. And it’s going to a long hot Devil summer.
At the end of that summer, we’re going to get the first eight episodes of Lucifer season 5 so, you know, we still win in the end. That’s right, over a year after Lucifer dropped season 4 on Netflix, we finally have the long awaited release date for Lucifer season five.
Well part one of it anyway.
Lucifer’s fifth season was originally supposed to be the final season. And maybe it still is because Netflix isn’t telling us anything about season six! Either way, the season was extended from its original ten episode order to sixteen episodes, which would be divided into two parts of eight episodes each.
With the COVID-19 production shutdown, well, fans have been anxious to get the lowdown on Lucifer‘s return. According to the date announcement, which is 66.6 seconds of the show’s sexiest moments, Lucifer season five part one will hit Netflix on August 21.
Now as for part two? That depends. Lucifer had four days left of filming the final episode of season five when the shutdown happened. With sets going back to work, we’re thinking that as soon as the team decides its safe then it’ll be a wrap. So hopefully we’ll see that bit in 2021.
