Riverdale, like many shows, has had to adjust for its fifth season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With storylines from season 4 not wrapped up yet, we’ve got some questions about what to expect from the fifth season.
Many astute fans believed that there would be some kind of time jump between seasons four and five so we don’t have to deal with the college years of Archie (KJ Apa) and the gang.
And it looks like they’re right.
Talking with TVLine, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa confirmed that there will be a time jump once all the on-hold storylines for Riverdale have been wrapped up.
“We’ve been talking and planning on doing a time jump, and of course, usually time jumps happen in between seasons, because there’s a tease at the very end.”
The plan is to finish the final three episodes that were planned for the fourth season of Riverdale and then do the time jump. So that’s what you can expect for season five. Things are going to complicated by the fourth episode.
