Waiting for the Netflix adaptation of The Sandman to get off the ground? Good news, Audible has an adaptation of the popular Veritgo comic series in the works. The project was announced a while ago and we’ve been waiting for word on the multi-part series.

Today, the cast has been announced for The Sandman. It is a star-studded one, which makes us very excited. Gaiman was announced as the narrator for the project with its announcement.

According to EW, James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class) will voice Morpheus aka Dream of the Endless. The cast also includes Riz Ahmed (Venom) as the Corinthian, Kat Dennings (Thor: The Dark World) as Death, Taron Egerton (Rocketman) as John Constantine, Samantha Morton (The Walking Dead) as Urania Blackwell, Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings) as Matthew the Raven, Michael Sheen (Good Omens) as Lucifer, and Bebe Neuwirth (Madam Secretary) as the Siamese Cat

We have to admit being a bit surprised that no one got Matt Ryan or Tom Ellis to reprise their roles as Constantine and Lucifer. Namely because they’re considered the definitive portrayal of the characters. Still we’re excited to see what Egerton and Sheen will bring to the roles. Also Kat Dennings as Death? We wouldn’t mind that happening in the Netflix Sandman series.

Just saying.

The first part of The Sandman will be released on Audible on July 15.
