If you want some more Chris Hemsworth in your life as we all quarantine, then good news! Hemsworth has Netflix movie coming out pretty soon.
In Extraction, Chris Hemsworth stars a mercenary naked Tyler Rake, who is sent to rescue the kidnapped son of a well known crime lord. Getting the kid is the easier part, escaping the city alive? Now that’s a little bit trickier.
Extraction will also star David Harbour (Stranger Things), Manoj Bajpayee (The Family Man), Fay Masterson (The Last Ship), Pankaj Tripathi (Drive), and Derek Luke (13 Reasons Why).
Funnily enough, Extraction serves as an MCU reunion. Luke also played Gabe Jones in Captain America: The First Avenger. MCU directors Anthony and Joe Russo produced the project with Joe Russo penning the script. Finally, Sam Hargrave, who is a former Captain America/Chris Evans stunt double along with serving as a second unit director for Endgame, makes his directorial debut with Extraction.
On getting Hemsworth to star in his directorial debut, Hargrave told EW.
“Prior to me directing this movie, we were very close, but we knew each other in different ways; he was never my lead actor, like he was part of a big ensemble piece and I’d get him for little bits here and there, and I was an action director, not the director. So it was a feeling out process, but that only took, for me, a couple rehearsals and I knew he was fully committed. He came in early and we did a rehearsal day and he requested to stay late and work on some of the fight choreography and he just immediately showed his work ethic and collaborative nature. It was one of the smoothest, most wonderful, and personal relationships that I’ve ever had on a film set.”
Extraction will drop on Netflix on April 24.
