Marvel fans can agree that the actors and characters of the Marvel-Netflix universe maybe got the shaft. At the very least, we wished the series could have ended on their own terms versus well sudden cancellations, especially Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Both ended with big cliffhangers.
At the very least, Daredevil and Jessica Jones felt like they had somewhat complete if ambiguous endings. They felt like something though. That doesn’t meant we wouldn’t mind if the characters showed up in the MCU.
There have been rumors. Recently, the rumor is that Daredevil will appear in Spider-Man: Far From Home‘s 2021sequel. In an interview with Comicbook.com, Charlie Cox, who played Matthew Murdock/Daredevil on the Netflix series, addressed said rumors.
“I hadn’t heard those rumors, but it’s certainly not with my Daredevil. I’m not involved in it. If that’s true, it’s not with me. It’s with another actor.”
That? Would be a bummer. Cox was great in the series. He did go onto to say if the MCU came knocking on his door, then he wouldn’t say not to returning to the Marvel sandbox.
“Look, I had a great time. I’m so grateful I got to play that character as long as I did. Of course, I’d love to keep going. I’d love to be involved with it.”
He even offered a likely scenario, “[But] I love the idea of Jessica and Matt showing up in the background or Matt as a lawyer advising Peter Parker. That’d be really, really cool.”
We have to admit that would be pretty cool.
