Are we getting this sixth season of Lucifer or not?
That’s the question running through Lucifans minds as we wait on news as to whether or not the series is getting a sixth season.
Well we have some good news and some bad news. Bad news first is that we still haven’t gotten that official greenlight about Lucifer getting a sixth season on Netflix.
Good news, however, is that we have a big and positive step in the right direction.
According to TVLine, Tom Ellis has signed on to play Lucifer on a potential sixth season of the beloved series. Ellis has been playing the character since 2016 to critical and audience acclaim. Between Ellis signing on for more devilish fun along with co-showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich set to return, we’re feeling pretty golden on getting that sixth season.
Netflix and Warner Bros are reportedly currently in discussions for Lucifer‘s sixth season. The upcoming season, the fifth, was supposed to be the final season for the series. It proved so popular for Netflix, however, that the streaming service wanted more.
Not that we’re going to complain about it.
We just need that confirmation as to whether or not Lucifer‘s season six is a-go.
Lucifer season five will have 16 episode and split into two eight-episode parts. The first part will be released sometime in 2020.
