Little Monsters… it’s almost time for the next Gaga era and we couldn’t be more excited.

Lady Gaga has been teasing her fans about her upcoming sixth solo studio album for a while now; dotting social media posts with cryptic clues and the hashtag #LG6. We were finally granted new music on Friday when her first single off the new album, “Stupid Love” was released along with its quirky music video. With the lead single out, the album shouldn’t be far off and the Mother Monster didn’t disappoint, announcing yesterday (March 2) that Chromatica was coming April 10 and was available immediately for preorder.

Chromatica will feature 16 tracks and appears to be thematically connected at least loosely – the “Stupid Love” world is named Chromatica.

The “Stupid Love” music video sees the world of Chromatica divided into various factions, which are grouped by colour. Gaga appears as the leader of the factions with the pink “Kindness Punks”, who battle to keep the society in order.

Sharing some insight into the album, Gaga explained that a “sine wave” that contains the mathematical symbol for sound is incorporated in the land of Chromatica and that this is what has “healed” her throughout her life.

“It’s about healing and it’s about bravery as well,” Gaga told Zane Lowe during an interview on Apple Music. “I think what I’ve learned is that I can view the world in whatever way I choose to see it, and it, it doesn’t mean that I’m deleting the bad things, it just means that I can reframe my life experiences and reframe also the way that the world frames life experiences to a way that I love and believe in, and that’s, that is Chromatica… I went into my frame, I found earth, I deleted it. Earth is canceled. I live on Chromatica.”

Chromatica also signifies musical notes on the chromatic scale and the inclusivity of all sounds and colours and that being in this “frame of mind” has informed all her previous creative outputs. “We’re definitely dancing,” Gaga said. “I put all of my heart, all my pain, all of my messages from the other realm and what they tell me to tell the world, I put it into music that I believe to be so fun and, energetically, really pure. I want people to dance and feel really happy. Someone asked me the other day what my goal was with this album… I said, ‘I’d like to put out music that a big chunk of the world will hear and it will become a part of their daily lives and make them happy every single day.'”

“Stupid Love” is out now, with Chromatica dropping on April 10.
