If you’re looking for something to fill that Dickinson shape hole in your life, then maybe give Hulu’s upcoming series The Great a try.
The series stars Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult as Catherine the Great and Emperor Peter. Catherine arrives to be married to Peter, who is…not what she intended. He’s screams “rabbit” when hunting rabbit and calls himself the most loved ruler in Russian history with dead bodies hanging from the series. Catherine, meanwhile, wants a partner and believes she’s destined for greatness.
Yeah, not with Emperor Peter at her side in this series.
The series will track Catherine in her rise to become the longest lasting female ruler in Russian history.
Tony McNamara, who co-wrote The Favourite with Deborah Davis, wrote, created, and executive produces The Great.
The Great also stars Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, Sebastian de Souza, Bayo Gbadamosi, and Belinda Bromilow. With Fanning also EP-ing the project along with McNamara.
The Great will premiere on Hulu on May 15.
