DC’s Sandman Heads To Audible For Multi-Part Audio Drama

Fans have DC’s Sandman series are having an embarrassment of riches in terms of content. We still have the upcoming live-action adaptation in Netflix.

Now, according to The Hollywood ReporterSandman will also be getting adaptation for an audio drama via Audible. Sandman will be overseen by Neil Gaiman with Dirk Maggs serving as director, executive producer, and scriptwriter. Gaiman will serve as creative director, executive producer, and series narrator.

Maggs previously did audio adaptation of Gaiman’s Neverwhere, Stardust, Good Omens, and Anansi Boys. 

According to Gaiman, getting an audio adaptation of Sandman has been on Maggs list for some time.

“Almost 30 years ago, Dirk Maggs approached DC about adapting The Sandman info audio form. I’m glad it didn’t happen, because we are in a Golden Age of audio drama right now, and Dirk and I are much better at what we are doing. This is a rich audio adaptation of the Sandman graphic novels, brilliantly crafted by Dirk Maggs, with an all-star cast.”
