Chris Evans Plays A Father On The Edge In Apple TV+’s Defending Jacob

For those of you awaiting the next big TV drama, then it looks like the upcoming Chris Evans series, Defending Jacob will sate that appetite.

In the Apple TV+ series, Evans stars as Andy Barber, whose 14-year-old son Jacob (Jaeden Martell) is arrested for murder. Along with his wife Laurie (Michelle Dockery), the parents attempt to understand what happened that day. Along the way, as the try to prove Jacob’s innocence, they learned that nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

The miniseries was written by Mark Bomback (Outlaw King) and directed by Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) from the novel of the same name by William Landay. Defending Jacob marks Dockery’s TV return following her exit from Downton Abbey and Evans first appearance on TV since 2000’s The Opposite of Sex.

Defending Jacob also stars Cherry Jones, Pablo Schreiber, Sakina Jaffrey, Betty Gabriel, and J.K. Simmons. It will be released on Apple TV+ on April 24.
