Fans of Tom Hiddleston are overjoyed to hear the British actor will once again be appearing on the small screen, this time in a political thriller called White Stork.
The series will screen on Netflix and run for 10 episodes.
Hiddleston is well versed in screen, stage and cinema. He won a Golden Globe for his role as Jonathon Pine in The Night Manager, and he is about to reprise his most well known role of Loki in the Marvel spin off series of the same name. Hiddleston recently finished an almost year long run of the Harold Pinter play Betrayal, playing in both London and on Broadway. In White Stork he will play the role of James Cooper.
White Stork is being produced by Eleven, the same company that released Sex Education on the streaming site.
The official description runs: When James Cooper is selected to run for a seat in parliament, Asher Millan is sent to vet him for primetime. But she quickly uncovers potentially damaging secrets buried deep in James’ past. Secrets that will threaten to blow everything apart — his career, his marriage, even the powerful people backing his campaign. White Stork is a political thriller about the paradox of truth in a post-truth world.
The series was created by Christopher Dunlop and will be directed by Kristoffer Nyholm.
As yet no other casting has been announced. The series is currently listed as ‘in pre-production’ and is set to shoot within the UK.
We will keep a close eye on this one, to see when we can expect it on screen. Hiddleston is currently based in the USA shooting the Loki series, which is expected to drop in 2021.
Earlier in the week, during the Superbowl, Marvel aired their first ad for the group of Spin Off Series’. You can check that out below.
