Dev Patel Heads To Dickensian London In Trailer For The Personal History Of David Copperfield

Dev Patel heads to Dickensian London in the trailer for the US release of The Personal History of David Copperfield. The 2019 comedy-drama, which holds a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for several BIFAs, heads to the US for a summer release.

In the trailer, we see an adult David Copperfield (Patel) recount his life to an audience as he strives to become a gentleman and an author. What follows is a gorgeously dress period piece with the likes of Peter Capaldi. Hugh Laurie, Tilda Swinton, and more hamming it up. Though, honestly, the main draw for us is Patel, who is making us swoon as Copperfield.

The film is based on the novel by Charles Dickens and Armando Iannucci (Veep) directed along with co-writing the screenplay.
