Paul Wesley is getting back to bats. Kind of.
The Vampire Diaries alum, who played broody vampire brother Stefan Salvatore on The CW drama, is heading back to the network as a director. According to Entertainment Weekly, Wesley is going to direct Batwoman‘s 17th episode of its first season.
Wesley revealed the news on Monday, Jan. 20 by posting an Instagram story that showed the script cover (written by Daphne Mills). Wesley made his directorial debut on season five of The Vampire Diaries. He directed four more episodes of TVD. Wesley has also directed episodes on series such as Shadowhunters, Roswell, New Mexico, and TVD spinoff, Legacies.
In addition, her also stars in CBS All Access’ series, Tell Me A Story, which is currently airing its second season.
It’s hard to tell just where Batwoman will be by its 17th episode. At the end of episode ten, Kate (Ruby Rose) came out as Batwoman and made it clear to Alice (Rachel Skarsten) how she isn’t going to be happy family with her. Of course, that’s when a doppelgänger of Alice, a normal version of Kate’s twin sister Beth (also Skarsten) showed up for some post-Crisis fallout.
Given TVD‘s history with doppelganget’s, I’m sure Wesley can relate.
Batwoman airs Sundays at 8/7c on The CW.
