So much for living your deepest fantasies.
Blumhouse returns with a darker take on a classic television series, Fantasy Island. In the first trailer for the film, we get the distinct impression that things at the island are much darker than they appear.
A luxury remote resort island in the middle of nowhere and a group of guests invited to live the deepest desires, this combination provided a successful television series and a place in the pop cultural landscape. Now, it’s time to take the show in a more horrific direction.
The latest group of guests sees that their fantasies are taking a decidedly darker direction. With the line between reality and fantasy blurring, they have to keep their wits about them and solve the mystery of the island and the mysterious Mr. Roarke (Michael Pena) in order to escape with their lives.
Check out the trailer below.
The film also stars Maggie Q, Lucy Hale, Austin Stowell, Portia Doubleday, Jimmy O. Yang, Ryan Hansen, and Michael Rooker. Jeff Wadlow (Truth or Dare) directed the film from a script by Wadlow Chris Roach, and Jillian Jacobs.
Fantasy Island will be released on Feb. 14, 2020.
