Wonder Woman 1984 will be out in June 2020, which is ages away for us.
Frankly, we’re excited for it either way. The majority of the characters remains a pretty big mystery to us. Excitingly, however, director Patty Jenkins has revealed who Narcos Pedro Pascal will play in the highly anticipated sequel.
Taking to Twitter, Jenkins posted picture from the comics of the character Maxwell Lord. In the tweet, she tagged Pedro Pascal, Gal Gadot, and the Wonder Woman twitter. That’s right Pascal will play the version of one of the richest men in DC Comics and also one of the most villainous.
She captioned the tweet with “Well hello…Max.”

In comics, Maxwell Lord was a villainous opportunistic businessman that came to the conclusion that, for the better of humanity, superheroes needed to be eradicated. He was, in a darkly hilarious sort of way, killed by Wonder Woman in comics. In live-action previously, he was played by Peter Facinelli in the first season of Supergirl and by Gil Bellowes in Smallville.
It’s unknown just how Pascal’s Lord will factor into the things. The main villain will be Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah (Kristen Wiig), but there are plenty of ways for Lord to ooze his way into it.
Wonder Woman 1984 will be released on June 5, 2020.
