Get ready to go back to Schitt’s Creek one final time.
On Tuesday, Sept. 16, CBC and Pop TV made a joint announcement for the final season of the beloved comedy series. Its sixth and final season will debut on Jan. 7, 2020.
This announcement also came with a video tour of the iconic locales of the series, which include the Rosebud Motel and Cafe Tropical.

The series follows the adventures of the Rose Family (Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, and Annie Murphy), who fall from wealth into the tiny town that they bought as a joke. Adjusting to their new lives, the clueless Roses eventually settle into the town and form better and lasting relationships. They may even have grown up along the way. The fifth season, which will land on Netflix on Oct. 10, proved to be the most popular season for the show, netting four Emmy nods (two acting, one for costumes, and Best Comedy).
Dan Levy, talking with Entertainment Weekly, said on ending the show, “I feel really confident that we’ve really mined everything we could. But the world doesn’t explode at the end of it. If there is something that comes up down the line that feels compelling enough to bring our troupe back together and continue to tell a story, so be it. I’m not one to lay down the iron fist and say, ‘This is it forever.’ This is just it for now.”
