Agent May has found her next mission. Actress Ming-Na Wen is set to guest-star in Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens.
As the name suggests, the series is led by Awkwafina and will air on Comedy Central. Wen joins the show as Awkwafina’s aunt, Sandra, who is described by TVLine as “Nora’s bohemian, earthy and spiritual aunt who comes for a visit.” The show will hopefully be a great opportunity for Wen to show off her comedic side. As anyone who has seen the actress interviewed or speak on a panel at a convention will know, she’s silly, brilliant, and quick with a joke. But as the stoic and often tight-lipped Agent Melinda May on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Wen has had few chances to shine as a comedian except with the occasional dry remark.
Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens is the latest role for Wen but perhaps not her most high-profile one. Last month at D23, it was announced she had joined the cast for Star Wars: The Mandalorian, one of the biggest original shows coming in November to Disney+.

Awkwafina is also attached to a number of big projects. In December, she will be on the big screen in Jumanji: The Next Level. She will also be the voice of Scuttle in Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.
She’ll also be joining the Marvel family when she stars in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in 2021. In fact, Shang-Chi himself, Simu Liu, hinted that he’d be making an appearance on Awkwafina’s Comedy Central show as well.
