Is John Krasinski Returning On Screen In A Quiet Place 2? Here’s A First Look At The Sequel

A Quiet Place 2 is coming and no one is more excited than John Krasinski. The actor announced on social media that filming on the sequel had wrapped and shared a photo showing him with wife and co-star Emily Blunt.

Blunt will return as badass and mom Evelyn Abbott, while Krasinski will once again direct the film. It’s possible this is a photo of Krasinski as director walking hand-in-hand with his wife on the recognizable sand trail across the bridge from the first film.

But it’s more fun to speculate so… could Krasinski be in the sequel too? If so, it would have to be in flashbacks because–SPOILER–in one of the most emotional moments in the first film, he sacrificed himself to save his children and was killed by alien creatures. But flashbacks aren’t completely out of the question according to Blunt.

Speaking to EW before a sequel was formally announced, Blut said, “In some ways, the idea of seeing who these people were before this all happened would be interesting, but I’m not quite sure because I think actually it’s now what’s the next chapter and what happens next. I think people feel very invested in this family…. I think it’s such an open book right now, and certainly for John who is lasering into something as we speak.”

Blunt will be joined in the sequel with A Quiet Place co-stars Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, who play her on-screen children. While details are still scarce, it seems safe to assume the second film with continue following the Abbott family as they fight to survive and thrive in a world where murderous aliens with hypersensitive hearing have invaded.

Two new actors have also joined the cast list. Cillian Murphy will play a character described as a man with mysterious intentions and Djimon Hounsou will play another new character (he replaced Brian Tyree Henry, who bowed out due to scheduling conflicts).

A Quiet Place 2 is due out in theaters on May 15, 2020.
