Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is reaching out to the USA Network family for its latest addition to the cast. So far, the upcoming sequel of sorts for Showtime’s hit horror drama series has nabbed alums from Game of Thrones and more for its already hugely talented cast.
It has been revealed that Piper Perabo is set to join in on the scares in a recurring role. Perabo will be playing “a woman who is unsatisfied with her life in 1938 Los Angeles.” The actress’ character, Linda Craft, is the wife of Dr. Peter Craft (who will be played by Rory Kinnear, a former alum of the original series), who is head of the isolationist German-American Bund. Linda is also the mother to Trevor (Hudson West) and Tom (Julian Hilliard) who is apparently disappointed with her husband and bored with her constrained suburban life.
Daniel Zovatto, Natalie Dormer, Nathan Lane, Kerry Bishé, Johnathan Nieves, Jessica Garza, Adriana Barraza and Michael Gladis have already been announced as being part of the cast. Amy Madigan, Brent Spiner, Lorenza Izzo, Lin Shaye and Adam Rodriguez are also set to be recurring along with Perabo.
Perabo’s addition to the cast certainly adds another layer of mystery to the upcoming series and definitely will provide more insight to Kinnear’s role in the series.
Production is set to start later on this year. No release date has been announced at this time.
