New American Horror Story: 1984 Teaser Shows Why It’s Safety In Numbers At Camp Redwood

There are a number of reasons that a summer camp just isn’t for me… being in the wilderness for weeks, actually camping, camp food, the plethora of critters that are out to kill you (hey I’m Australian, that’s a legitimate fear), but the latest teaser for American Horror Story: 1984 just added one more – the much bigger critter that is out to kill you.

We are just over a month before AHS returns with its ninth season and while they are (typically) not giving anything away, their teasers certainly aren’t pulling any punches. The latest teaser, released yesterday (August 6) sees some Camp Redwood campers checking into their cabin and selecting their bunks. So far that all seems fairly innocuous. Before long, one of the new arrivals decides to head off on a walk with a female camper, leaving his roommate alone in the cabin.

BIG MISTAKE!!!! ROOKIE MISTAKE!!! Safety in numbers people!

As the cabin door closes, things look decidedly bad for the roommate left behind. US summer camps will definitely be thankful this season airs AFTER the summer. Check out the teaser below.

While we have yet to see any of the main cast in 1984’s teasers, Murphy did share a video on Instagram last month introducing the cast (see below). Along with the previously announced Emma Roberts and Gus Kenworthy, 1984 stars previous AHS ensemble Cody Fern, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman and John Carroll Lynch. Joining the series are Glee star Matthew Morrison, Angelica Ross and DeRon Horton.

American Horror Story: 1984 premieres on FX on Wednesday September 18.
