Forbes has released its list of the highest paid actors in 2019, and we see a familiar face sitting pretty at the number one spot.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson tops the list for 2019, beating out Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr and Chris Hemsworth for the honor. From the period of June 1, 2018 to June 1, 2019, Johnson made $89.4 million USD. While he had only one movie released during that stint, Skyscraper, he gets paid $700k per episode of his HBO series Ballers on top of his various endorsement deals plus a percentage of box office returns for his highest grossing movies. Johnson previously made the list in 2016.
Needless to say, between this and his surprise weekend marriage to longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian, Johnson is having a pretty awesome week.
Hemsworth scored the number two slot with $76.4 million USD and Downey came in third with $66 million USD. Fourth place went to Bollywood star Akshay Kumar with $65 million USD and Jackie Chan $58 million USD, who also owns a chain of theatres on top of his acting.
Others on the top 10 list are fellow Endgame stars Chris Evans ($43.5 million USD) and Paul Rudd ($41 million USD). Bradley Cooper and Adam Sandler both tie with $57 million USD while Will Smith ends the list with $35 million USD.
Either way, all this money practically sounds like Monopoly money to the rest of us.
Johnson’s latest film Hobbs & Shaw is currently out in theatres.
