Broadway is about to get its very own dose of Marvel fun courtesy of some of the stars from the MCU.
Tom Hiddleston and Charlie Cox, who play Loki and Matt Murdock/Daredevil respectively in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are both set to make their Broadway debuts this year with their returns to the production of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal. The actors shared the stage lights in the play earlier this during the its West End run in London to great acclaim.
Hiddleston is set to reprise his role as is Cox. Joining them is Zawe Ashton, who is also a veteran of the West End production and will also be making her Broadway debut.
Betrayal, which is being produced by the Jamie Lloyd Company, is slated to begin previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on August 14th. The official opening night of the critically acclaim play will be on September 5th.
“Watching this remarkable cast bring new life to Harold Pinter’s greatest work has been one of the most gratifying and exciting experiences of my life in the theater. I am thrilled that American audiences will have the chance to witness their stunning performances,” shared Lloyd.
As for what the play centers on, Betrayal follows the story of a married couple married couple Emma (Ashton) and Robert (Hiddleston), who have been together for seven years. Their romance is complicated by the revelation of a five-year extra-marital affair between Emma and the couple’s best friend Jerry (Cox).
Betrayal is set for a limited 17-week run this fall with tickets going on sale on July 15th.
