The Flash Casting A New Scientist Character In Season 6

Can you feel it in the air? Television shows are returning to work. Actors are shaving their hiatus beards and getting back to business.

One of the best things about this time of year is that casting news comes out for established shows. Who will get bumped to a series regular status? Who will join the show? What can we expect in terms of the characters joining established series?

According to TVLine, one series getting a new character is The Flash. The nameless character is described as “a socially awkward, African-American genius in math and science (who specifically is a bit obsessed with aliens and their tech)”.

Could it be that The Flash crew will face an intergalactic Big Bad in season six? Details are elusive, especially with a new showrunner at the helm. Though given that the alien experts live on another Earth, this is probably a solid move.

Who knows how this mystery character will come into play for “Crisis on Infinite Earths”? It’s going to be a wild year for fans of the Arrowverse that’s for sure.

What does this mean for the dynamic at STAR Labs? As many fans fear (and theorized) with Cisco (Carlos Valdes) taking the meta-cure and his absences throughout season five, could they be prepping for an exit of a long time character?

That’s pure speculation at this time, of course. Let’s keep an ear for the Arrowverse casting news as it comes to us.

The Flash returns on Tuesday, October 8th at 8/7c on the CW.
