Everyone’s favorite comic actor/possible immortal, Paul Rudd is joining another franchise.
Variety announced that the Ant-Man star will join the 2020 Ghostbusters directed by Jason Rietman. Rietman’s father, Ivan, directed the original 1984 film that starred Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson. Rudd joins a cast that includes Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, along with some returning stars. Though those returning are being kept quiet at this time.
Rudd’s character is a small town teacher. That’s all we know of his involvement at this time. The story of the film will follow a family (Coon, Wolfhard, Grace) who are being plagued by the paranormal.
In a video from Sony Pictures U.K., Rudd shared his excitement on joining the project. He even shared it in front of the iconic firehouse where the Ghostbusters set up shop in the original films.
“When I heard they were gonna call me, well, as you can imagine, I nearly slimed myself. I can’t wait to join the cast this fall for Ghostbusters. In fact, I’m sliming myself right now.”
