Orlando Bloom And Cara Delevingne Are In Love In Intolerant Times In The Trailer For Amazon’s Carnival Row

An increasingly intolerant society with a deep mistrust of immigrants arriving from war-torn homelands? Gee, I wonder what that sounds like.

This is the world of Amazon Prime’s next series, Carnival Row. This fantasy drama is set in a fantasy world where mythological creatures have fled their homelands, which have been invaded by humans. Now they have to coexist with mankind, which is a struggle in and of itself. There is an uneasy peace.

That is, until, a series of murders threaten to disrupt the uneasy peace. Enter human detective Rycroft “Philo” Philostrate (Orlando Bloom) who is investigating the deaths. During this, however, Philo rekindles a rather dangerous affair with a refugee fairy, Vignette Stonemoss (Cara Delevingne).

The teaser shows Bloom and Delevingne moodily look at the camera, talking about how time is running out. Though, according to Vignette, everyone has to come together.

Given the atmosphere of fear and hatred? Good luck with that.

Still the series has a nice Victorian look to it. Plus, we’re digging Vignette’s wings (which look like stained glass).

Check out the trailer below.

Carnival Row will be released on August 30th.
