Lin-Manuel Miranda is returning to his first Broadway musical.

Or, well,  the film version of it.

The beloved actor, writer, and musician took to Twitter to announce his small role in the 2020 film adaptation of his 2008 musical, In The Heights.

“One last bit of casting,” he wrote and added, “[Rolls piragua cart on set…]”

He will be playing the small role of Piragüero or “Piragua Guy”, who owns and operates a small piragua stand that Mister Softee is trying to put out of business. Piragua is a Puerto Rican shaved ice dessert. Despite Mister Softee’s attempts to put him out of business, Piragüero keeps scraping by with his selection of strawberry, mango, and pineapple ices.

Miranda wrote and starred as Usnavi in the original Broadway production. Usnavi will be played by Miranda’s Hamilton co-star Anthony Ramos. Mexican actress and singer Melissa Barerra will play Usnavi’s love interest Vanessa in the film.

He joins a star studded cast with singer Marc Antony playing Sonny’s father, Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) as Benny, Gregory Diaz IV (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) as Sonny, singer Leslie Grace as Nina, Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) as Carla, Daphne Rubin-Vega (RENT) as Daniela, Dascha Polanco (Orange Is The New Black) as Cuca, and Jimmy Smits (Dexter) as Nina’s father, Kevin.

Returning with Miranda from the original Broadway cast is Olga Merediz, who will reprise her role as Abeula Claudia.

In The Heights will hit theatres on June 26th, 2020.
