It’s the battle fans of animated superhero shows have long been waiting for.

An actual, literal battle of the titans. Well the Teen Titans, but the point still stands.

As a post-credit scene to the 2018 film Teen Titans GO! To The Movies, the characters of the 2003 animated series made a return. There was all sorts of speculation on the internet because of it. Was there going to be a revival? A crossover of some kind? What was going on around here?

As we learned, this year (2019) we’ll get the crossover of Teen Titans GO! vs Teen Titans, which sees the very different characters (though voiced by the same actors) share the screen.

Today, we got the trailer released. Oh and the nostalgia for the 2003 series is real, folks.

Here’s the synopsis for those of you interested.

“In TEEN TITANS GO! vs TEEN TITANS, villains from each of their universe join forces to pit the Titan teams against each other. They’ll need to set aside their differences and work together to combat Trigon, Hexagon, and Santa to save the multiverse.”

Now for those of you who don’t know the 2003 Teen Titans ran until 2006 on Cartoon Network. It was a darker version in comparison to the light-hearted Teen Titans GO!, which debuted in 2013. Fans of the older series didn’t really like this change and have been hoping for a revival ever since.

The trailer does seem to blend the two series pretty well. I’ll always be a 2003 series fan for the nostalgia factor, but this looks like it’s going to be a good crossover.

Check out the trailer below.

Teen Titans GO! vs Teen Titans does not have a release date, but it will be released on digital and Blu-ray later this year.
