There is nothing quite as tragic as a young talent cut down in his prime. Yet, three years ago next week, we will mark the anniversary of actor Anton Yelchin’s death. In addition to it being three years since the tragic accident that took the young actors life, his 30th birthday would have been in March.
Marking this occasion, the first trailer for the documentary focusing on Yelchin’s life Love, Antosha has been released. It debut last night (June 9th) at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery where there was a screening of 2009’s Star Trek where Yelchin made his first appearance as Pavel Chekov in the film. We’re definitely reaching for the tissues.
The film, narrated by Nicolas Cage and directed/edited by Garret Price, features 60-plus interviews with cast and crew of Yelchin’s projects, who remember their co-star. While Yelchin’s filmography is impressive, Price also focused on Yelchin’s life beyond the cameras: a survivor battling cystic fibrosis, a student of the arts, and a devoted son to his parents, who championed for the documentary to be made.
The trailer shows a young man, taken too soon and suddenly, and one who clearly had more to share with the world.

Love, Antosha will have limited releases in LA on August 2nd and New York on August 9th.
