With the TV Upfronts being this past week, the excitement for the 2019-2020 television season has never been greater. All of the major networks have been quick to release their newest schedules for all of their programming, except for the CW, who was saving themselves to the very end.
The wait for The CW’s 2019-2020 television schedule is over as the network released its TV agenda on Thursday. There looks to be some major shakeups in their primetime lineup as old faves are being shuffled to new nights to make room for the newbies on deck.
Some of the biggest moves on the schedule belong to the Arrowverse shows. First, Arrow is moving to Tuesdays at 9/8c for its final season, reuniting with its first spinoff, The Flash. Supergirl is also getting a new time on Sundays as it will follow the newest Arrowverse series Batwoman, starring Ruby Rose as the titular superhero, as it will air Sundays at 8/7c, taking over Supergirl‘s old time slot.
As for Black Lightning, it will remain on Monday nights at 9pm while the last of the Arrowverse shows, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is being held until midseason. Based on that move, how the Legends will be involved in the crossover next year is up for speculation. Joining Black Lightning on Mondays is All American, which is moving to a new night.
Also moving to a different day and timeslot is Charmed , whose new home is Fridays for Season 2, leading into Dynasty.
Joining Legends on being held for a midseason return are Katy Keene (Riverdale spinoff), Roswell, New Mexico; In the Dark and The 100. And last but not least, the Freshman series Nancy Drew gets the post-Riverdale time slot.
