Spoiler alert! This post discusses the ending of Avengers: Endgame, so beware if you haven’t seen it yet. But, seriously, it’s been almost two weeks now.
One of the many questions left by Avengers: Endgame was how bad of a shape was the MCU left in the wake of all of the game changing events that went down in the blockbuster film? Thanks to the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, fans everywhere actually get a first glimpse on how the world is moving on from that catastrophic event.
The trailer reveals what happens after Endgame. While there are some familiar scenes present in the trailer, there’s a whole new context to those scenes as Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is still reeling from the devastating loss dealt to the MCU. “Everywhere I go, I see his face. I just really miss him,” says Peter in the trailer, talking about his mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Iron Man, who sacrificed himself to beat Thanos.
Stark’s right-hand man Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau), who is also missing Stark, reminds him as he shares, “I don’t think Tony would have done what he did if he didn’t know you were going to be here after he was gone.”
As for what the film will fully be about, Peter’s vacation gets interrupted by one Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) who calls in Spidey to team with mysterious new hero Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) when a bunch of elemental monsters start causing massive international destruction. Apparently, to add to the mayhem, Mysterio is from an alternate Earth thanks to a dimensional rip caused by the Infinity Gauntlet.
